Trip to Lake Tahoe

This past weekend, Jeanie and I took a trip to Lake Tahoe to celebrate my best friend's birthday. We spent our weekend at the Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel. We had a fantastic time hiking, sampling restaurants, and playing board games in the room. Check out some of the pictures!

Driving down

During the drive down to the hotel, Jeanie and I stopped to eat in a little town called Susanville. Don't blink. While we were there, we found the most amazing little restaurant and pub called "The Pioneer." I really enjoy having the opportunity to explore these little off-the-beaten-path kinda gems. Having Jeanie there to share in the experience just makes it that much more awesome. If you're ever in the area (like if you get lost or something), check this place out. Anyway, on with the trip!

We have arrived!

We found these Blues Brothers statues while we were exploring
the town. I just had to take a picture with them.

And then Sean joined in!

Beautiful views from the hike

To round out our trip, we played one of the games that the Tippers brought. It was a neat little game called Westerly. It's similar to the concept of the old Oregon Trail game. In this version, we're all on a wagon trying to head out west and we encounter frontier problems along the way. It's a fun game because we're all trying to make it together, but it's really hard! Everyone died by the end of it. Only Jeanie actually made it out west! It was such a fun game.

Almost everyone died by the end. Only Jeanie made it!
Hanging out with the Tippers is always a fantastic time. I can't wait until we get to see them again!

Emi's Birthday Party

When it's time for Markie's daughter, Emi, to celebrate her birthday, everyone comes around. For her party, she said she wanted to go fishing! For this, we all went out to a fishing spot not far outside Puyallup. having never fished before, it was quite an interesting experience for me.

Check out how it all went!

I'm not very good at this. Markie's dad
had to help me with it.

Reel it in! Reel it in!

It turned out to be a pretty fantastic weekend! I always have fun when I get to hang out with Markie and her family.

Easter Adventure

Get ready for a picture-heavy post this month! On Easter weekend, Jeanie and I headed up north to visit friends and family. The first thing we did was to meet up with Jeanie's friend, Elizabeth to go on a hike. It was all fun and games until the rain started. We all still had a good time, though.

After the nature walk, we sat in the car and dried of for a while. Then, Jeanie and I went to hang out with Markie and her daughter Emi for an evening of bowling and mini-golf!

Jeanie said it looked like I had a walker while
I was helping Emi bowl.

The final scores were pretty close! (I'm at the bottom: King Drew)
To round out our already awesome weekend, we spent Easter with my parents. Evan was adorable, as always. It was a great time!

Evan opens his Easter gifts. . .

. . . and the three of us tried to put it back together.
