This past weekend, Jeanie and I took a trip to Lake Tahoe to celebrate my best friend's birthday. We spent our weekend at the Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel. We had a fantastic time hiking, sampling restaurants, and playing board games in the room. Check out some of the pictures!

Driving down |
During the drive down to the hotel, Jeanie and I stopped to eat in a
little town called Susanville. Don't blink. While we were there, we
found the most amazing little restaurant and pub called "The Pioneer." I
really enjoy having the opportunity to explore these little
off-the-beaten-path kinda gems. Having Jeanie there to share in the
experience just makes it that much more awesome. If you're ever in the
area (like if you get lost or something), check this place out. Anyway,
on with the trip!

We found these Blues Brothers statues while we were exploring
the town. I just had to take a picture with them. |

And then Sean joined in! |

To round out our trip, we played one of the games that the Tippers brought. It was a neat little game called Westerly. It's similar to the concept of the old Oregon Trail game. In this version, we're all on a wagon trying to head out west and we encounter frontier problems along the way. It's a fun game because we're all trying to make it together, but it's really hard! Everyone died by the end of it. Only Jeanie actually made it out west! It was such a fun game.

Almost everyone died by the end. Only Jeanie made it! |
Hanging out with the Tippers is always a fantastic time. I can't wait until we get to see them again!
